About adult safeguarding
Find out more out our safeguarding process and the safety plan in place when a concern is reported.
We all have the right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. Safeguarding in 91制片厂responds to concerns about abuse and neglect in relation to adults who:
- require care and support (whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs)
- are experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect
- as a result of their care and support needs, are unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect
Abuse can happen anywhere at any time. You can find out more information here: What is abuse and neglect?
Abuse may only happen once or happen many times over a period of time. Reoccurring cases of poor care might be an indicator of more a serious problem, for example organisational abuse.
Keeping people safe from abuse and neglect is everybody鈥檚 responsibility.
Safeguarding in Worcestershire
Safeguarding in 91制片厂follows 7 steps to explore safeguarding concerns which are reported. During this process we will consider the concern reported and the most appropriate support for the person concerned. Therefore, not all concerns reported will progress through all of the steps.
The safety of the person must be considered from the time a concern about abuse or neglect is identified. The person reporting the concern should consider immediate measures to keep the person safe.
When a safeguarding concern has been reported a safety plan will be developed, with the person concerned where possible, and will be monitored and updated whilst safeguarding work is underway.
Making safeguarding personal
Making safeguarding personal means that the person must be involved throughout their journey through adult safeguarding.
There will be a conversation with the person about the best way to respond to their safeguarding situation to make sure it reflects what they want to happen.
