Redditch local cycling and walking infrastructure plan (LCWIP)
Information on the work for LCWIP taking place in Redditch
A public engagement exercise about the draft Redditch Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) was carried out from Monday 16 September 2024 to Friday 25 October 2024. An earlier survey took place in 2023 to ask people for their opinions on the emerging LCWIP networks. The draft Redditch LCWIP was developed by Sustrans (now called Walk Wheel Cycle Trust) on behalf of 91制片厂County Council. It includes five priority routes and a walking and wheeling zone in Redditch town centre.
The final Redditch LCWIP and Public Engagement Report 2024 reports are available here:
Your response
The engagement exercise engaged with a wide range of people, reflecting the views of residents and organisations in and around Redditch.
A total of 101 people responded to the online survey and analysis of responses shows that:
- there was a high level of agreement with aims and proposals
- the majority of respondents agreed with all of the proposed walking and cycling routes in Redditch
- the majority of respondents stated that they would walk and/or cycle more should the routes be delivered as outlined in the plans
The feedback has helped to inform the final Redditch LCWIP which sets out the prioritised list of schemes for delivery over the next 10 to 15 years to improve the safety, comfort, and attractiveness of walking, cycling and wheeling.
Next steps
The development of LCWIPs does not guarantee funding but allows 91制片厂to make the case for funding of future cycling, walking and wheeling schemes. The Redditch LCWIP is a key document to inform future funding bids.
