Check which mobile networks work best wherever you are in Worcestershire.
Why fast and reliable mobile connectivity matters
Good mobile connectivity is an essential part of modern life. People rely on mobile networks to make calls, access online services, use maps, manage work and stay in touch, wherever they are. Reliable coverage supports daily routines, personal safety and participation in an increasingly digital world.
In Worcestershire, mobile connectivity is especially important because of the county’s mix of towns, rural communities and transport routes. For residents, it enables access to services such as remote working, online learning, healthcare appointments and council services, particularly in areas where fixed broadband can be limited. Strong mobile signals also help people stay connected while travelling around the county.
For business owners, mobile connectivity underpins modern operations. Many businesses depend on mobile data for card payments, deliveries, customer contact and flexible working. Good coverage helps local enterprises operate efficiently, attract customers and remain competitive.
For visitors, good mobile coverage improves the experience of exploring Worcestershire. It supports navigation, travel planning, accommodation bookings, access to local attractions and the ability to share experiences while visiting the county’s towns and countryside.
What we’re doing
91ÖÆƬ³§County Council is working with Streetwave, a specialist mobile connectivity data company, to independently measure mobile signal strength across the county. Since the Autumn of 2024 we have been recording real world mobile coverage from the four major mobile network operators.
Our approach is providing an accurate picture of how mobile networks perform in practice, rather than relying solely on . The surveys have covered the length and breadth of 91ÖÆƬ³§including urban areas, market towns, rural communities, green spaces, roads and railways. They have highlighted where mobile coverage is strong and where improvements are needed.
The data gathered through the Streetwave surveys helps the Council better understand connectivity challenges faced by residents, visitors and businesses. It is being used to support evidence based discussions with mobile network operators, inform digital infrastructure planning, and help target intervention in areas with poor mobile coverage.
Check your coverage
You can check the mobile coverage we found with our work during 2024 and 2025 using the coverage map below:
Step 1: Click, ‘Select Signal Type’ in the top left-hand corner. You can choose ‘Mobile Signal’ (which provides an indication of how well you are able to make voice calls) or ‘Internet Signal’ (which provides an indication of how well you’ll be able to make data calls and use the internet).
Step 2: Click ‘Select Mobile Operator’ to view the network you want to investigate.
Step 3: Zoom or scroll to a location of interest or use the address finder in the top left-hand corner.
Step 4: Zooming in will provide more detailed information in your chosen location.
We’re working with Streetwave again in 2026. We will update the map later this year when we have collected and analysed the findings. We will be looking to see if there have been any improvements or deteriorations following work by MNOs on their infrastructure in our county and following the merger of Vodafone and Three UK which has promised enhancements.
You can compare the results presented in our map with the coverage checkers below to help you make an informed decision on what provider is best for your needs:
