An innovative app to help tackle loneliness and connect people for shared adventures and hobbies has helped a 91ÖÆƬ³§entrepreneur gain regional recognition.

No More Solo, founded by Ryan Breakwell and launched in March 2025, quickly surpassed over 300 downloads in its first week and been shortlisted as a finalist for Social Enterprise StartUp of the Year at the Midlands UK StartUp Awards.

Crucial to Ryan’s success was the expert support provided through 91ÖÆƬ³§County Council’s business coaching programme and delivered by Real World Consultancy (RWC). The tailored guidance helped him shape a clear business plan, sharpen his growth strategy, and secure an Innovation Grant accelerating development and turning his vision into a thriving, award-nominated reality.

Ryan Breakwell Founder of No More Solo said: "No More Solo was born from the idea that no one should have to explore life alone. With the help of Worcestershire’s business support, I’ve been able to turn this vision into a reality. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the app recognised for its impact but most importantly, it’s bringing people together every day."

Gary Woodman, Assistant Director for Economy commented: "Ryan’s success with No More Solo is a fantastic example of the entrepreneurial spirit we’re proud to support here in Worcestershire. Through tailored business coaching, we’re helping local innovators turn their ideas into thriving businesses that make a real difference in people’s lives."
