Transition resources for Previously Looked After Children
Resources developed by The Family Place.
These transition resources have been developed by The Family Place, a team of highly qualified clinicians specialising in attachment and trauma-informed work with care-experienced children, young people and their families. These resources are drawn from By Your Side, an attachment and trauma-focused therapeutic model developed by Dr Vivien Norris that helps children and young people navigate major transitions. The resources are intended to complement the wider support, training and consultation available through The Family Place.
The Family Place is working with 91制片厂Virtual School to provide workshops and consultations for parents, carers and school professionals to support care-experienced children. Workshops cover topics such as managing aggression, supporting emotional regulation through the creative arts and a series of workshops supporting children during educational transitions. Alongside these workshops, The Family Place offers consultations with schools and parents and carers to strengthen collaborative support around the child and improve outcomes.
