What happens in Peep sessions

Peep sessions are fun, relaxed and welcoming.

You might:

  • share songs, stories and rhymes
  • try simple play activities
  • talk about how children learn as they grow
  • get ideas you can use at home
  • meet other parents and carers

There鈥檚 no pressure, just small, enjoyable things you can do together.

How Peep helps your child

Peep activities support your child鈥檚 development in lots of ways:

  • talking and understanding words (communication and language)
  • making friends and managing feelings (personal, social and emotional development)
  • early reading and writing skills (early literacy)
  • early maths skills like counting and shapes
  • physical development and wellbeing

These are the skills children need to feel confident and ready for nursery and school.

How Peep supports you as a parent or carer

Peep is designed to build on what you already do well.

It can help you to:

  • feel more confident in supporting your child鈥檚 learning
  • understand how everyday moments (like mealtimes or getting dressed) help children develop
  • get simple ideas that don鈥檛 cost anything
  • connect with other parents and build support networks

Everyday learning at home

You don鈥檛 need special equipment or lots of time. Children learn best through ordinary, everyday moments, such as:

  • talking together while cooking
  • singing songs at bath time
  • looking at books or pictures
  • playing simple games
  • exploring outdoors

Peep helps you make the most of these moments.

Why families enjoy Peep

Parents often say Peep helps them:

  • feel more confident
  • enjoy spending time with their child
  • understand their child better
  • feel less isolated
