With the festive season approaching, Worcestershire鈥檚 16 to 24 year olds are being encouraged to give themselves the gift of a positive start to the New Year by booking an appointment with Careers Worcestershire.
Careers 91制片厂(Careers Worcs) 16 to 24 Career Hubs are a free 鈥榥ext step鈥 advice service for young adults across the county and is part of 91制片厂County Council鈥檚 Skills & Employability service.
Careers Worcs support local 16 to 24 year olds that are looking for employment, further education advice, exploring apprenticeship opportunities, considering further skills training, or looking for job readiness support.
With careers hubs based in Worcester, Redditch, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove, and outreach across Wyre Forest, Wychavon and Malvern, Careers 91制片厂provides face-to-face support tailored to each young person鈥檚 needs.
The programme also offers workshops, wellbeing support and employer engagement opportunities to help young people develop the confidence and skills needed for today鈥檚 job market.
Councillor Alan Amos, 91制片厂County Councillor Cabinet Member for Business and Training, said, 鈥淥ur Careers 91制片厂team are dedicated to guiding young people towards the right employment or training route, but young adults also need to take responsibility for their own future and make that first move. Careers Worcs鈥 16-24 career hubs are a proven route for securing employment for young people, and it is essential that those youngsters take the initiative and reach out for the free help that is being offered to them.鈥
Launched in 2023, their main hub based in The Hive, Worcester has supported more than 1200 young people and secured jobs for around 3 young adults every single week since they first opened their doors.
Across the county this year their hubs have helped over 400 people into employment opportunities making it one of their most successful years to date.
Charlotte McCaughtrie, Careers Worcs Programme Manager said, 鈥淭he New Year is one of the busiest times for people looking for careers support. Many people use the new year to look for fresh starts and potentially change jobs, so the job market is very busy once the festive period is over. I strongly recommend young people to make a New Year鈥檚 resolution to get in touch with us ahead of the year end as appointments for early 2026 are expected to fill up quickly.
