A 91制片厂tourism champion is in the running for a top national award.
Visit 91制片厂is urging residents and visitors to vote for Mick Hurst, founder of the Battle of Evesham Festival re-enactments, in VisitEngland鈥檚 Tourism Superstar 2026 Awards.
Mick has been shortlisted as a finalist in VisitEngland鈥檚 Tourism Superstar 2026 Awards, one of the UK鈥檚 leading honours recognising outstanding individuals in tourism.
Nominated with the support of Visit 91制片厂and 91制片厂County Council, Mick is recognised for his role in showcasing one of Worcestershire鈥檚 most important historical events. The annual Battle of Evesham festival attracts more than 60,000 visitors each year and makes a significant contribution to the county鈥檚 visitor economy.
Councillor Alan Amos, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Business and Skills at 91制片厂County Council, said: 鈥淢ick鈥檚 work has put Evesham firmly on the map, drawing thousands of visitors each year and celebrating an important part of Worcestershire鈥檚 heritage. This nomination recognises years of dedication and hard work. I encourage everyone across the county to support him and cast their vote.鈥
Mick Hurst, Founder of the Battle of Evesham Festival re-enactments, said: 鈥淏eing shortlisted for a national award is incredibly humbling. This recognition belongs to the volunteers, performers and supporters who have helped shape the Battle of Evesham Festival since it began in 2018. Together, we鈥檝e shared Evesham鈥檚 story with thousands of visitors and highlighted Worcestershire鈥檚 rich history. Public support through the vote will help us continue this work and welcome even more people to the area.鈥
The winner is decided entirely by public vote and will be announced at the end of English Tourism Week, which this year runs from 13-22 March. Visit 91制片厂is encouraging people across the county to support Mick and help bring the award to 91制片厂for the first time.
