SEND Local Offer

The October SEND update is now available.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Contact with those waiting longest on autism and ADHD pathways - Families waiting the longest for assessments are now being contacted as part of NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire’s new ‘Three Pillar’ approach.
  • New postcode checker for EHCP teams - A new tool makes it easier to find out which SEND Services team manages your child’s EHCP and who your EHCP Coordinator is.
  • Co-constructed language around neurodiversity - A recent workshop brought together parent carers, schools, and partners to agree shared definitions of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, ensuring consistent language across all services.
  • More training on co-production - Genuine Partnerships returned to deliver another co-production session. Children, young people, parent carers, and professionals worked together to shape a new co-production pledge for the county.
  • Voices United update - Young people from Voices United are now influencing SEND decision-making, including representation on the SEND and AP Executive Board. They’re also involved in new projects such as library engagement, SENDIASS collaboration, and shaping the SEND strategy vision.
  • Six-month SEND progress update - Worcestershire’s Local Area Partnership recently met with the DfE and NHSE to review progress. The feedback recognised clear improvements and ongoing commitment to joint working.
