Residents and visitors are advised of temporary road closures and traffic management measures taking place on Sunday 26 April 2026 to accommodate St George’s Day parades in Worcester, Kidderminster, and Pershore.
These annual events, led by local Scout and Guide groups, are expected to attract significant community participation. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.
Worcester Parade – road closures (1:00pm to 4:30pm)
The Worcester Scouts St George’s Day Parade will take place between 13:00 and 16:30, requiring full road closures in the city centre on the following roads:
- Angel Place (from Angel Street to Broad Street)
- Bank Street
- Broad Street
- Church Street
- High Street (including Cathedral Square)
- Mealcheapen Street
- Pump Street
- The Shambles
Temporary traffic control measures will be in place on St Swithin’s Street (outside NatWest Bank) to allow the parade to safely move between Broad Street and High Street. This arrangement follows the same format as in previous years.
Additionally, the pedestrian crossing on Deansway adjacent to Cathedral Square will be manually operated to facilitate safe movement of the parade to and from the cathedral.
To minimise disruption, the parade will once again be split into two sections, following successful implementation of this approach in 2025. This measure was introduced after extended traffic delays were experienced in 2024.
Kidderminster Parade – rolling closures (9:30am to 1:30pm)
Kidderminster will host its annual Scout and Guide St George’s Day Parade.
A rolling road closure system will be in operation, meaning no individual road will be closed for longer than 30 minutes at a time.

Motorists are advised to expect short delays while the parade passes through.
