Mick Hurst, who is the founder and leads the delivery of the Battle of Evesham Festival re-enactments, has been shortlisted as a finalist in VisitEngland鈥檚 Tourism Superstar 2026 Awards.
The nomination recognises his dedication to celebrating one of Worcestershire鈥檚 most significant historical events while boosting the local visitor economy.
The event commemorates the 1265 Battle of Evesham, a defining moment in English medieval history. Developed over just 7 years, the Battle of Evesham Festival has become a firmly established fixture in Worcestershire鈥檚 events calendar, welcoming more than 50,000 visitors to the heart of Evesham each August.
Visit 91制片厂nominated Mick in recognition of his long-standing commitment to celebrating one of the county鈥檚 most significant historical moments and the positive impact the re-enactments have on local businesses.

Mick鈥檚 experience in heritage tourism has helped shape Worcestershire鈥檚 visitor offer, including supporting the launch of the Visit Historic 91制片厂initiative, which brings the county鈥檚 stories to life and encourages more visitors to explore the region.

The Tourism Superstar award is decided by a national public vote, with finalists competing during February and March. Voting closes at the end of English Tourism Week, which runs from 13 to 22 March 2026.
