Join us at 10am or 11am on Monday 27 July or Monday 10 August for our free Rhythm and Rhyme Poetry Workshops, inspired by this years Summer Reading Challenge theme, 'Read to the Beat'. Led by Hive staff, these hour-long sessions will teach children about the basic components of poetry in an engaging, interactive and musical way. We will look at fun examples of rhythm, rhyme, alliteration and onomatopoeia and will use musical instruments to better understand how poems work. Children can then write their own poems, either from scratch or with a little help from some worksheeets.
Suitable for children aged 6 to 10 years, children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
